Psychologists found out that the faces of couples tend to look similar after being together for a very long time. They claim empathy - among other factors - to be the cause. Now extend this idea. Do you feel empathy for your dog, computer, car, or a painting? Esse=percipi

Two girls who live at the house of strangers and videotape it. A recurrent theme of some great movies like The Educators, Bin Jip, Chunking Express or Following.

ivy league nude posture scandal
August 17th, 2007 · No Comments
From the 1940’s to the 1960’s all new students in a couple of Ivy League Universities (among them Princeton and Yale) were photographed either nude or semi-nude, with metal spikes attached to their backs. Obviously some kind of pseudo-scientific idea of physiognomic profiling was the reason for this. Among the photographed students were George Bush, Hilary Rodham and Meryl Streep. Part of the photos were burned in a huge bonfire. Two great images I think.

This beautiful little duck reminds me of the great story of some thousand rubber ducks on an odyssey for 15 years and travelling with the winds and currents over the pacific, some of them to Australia some via the icy Bering Sea to the Atlantic Ocean.

China has banned Buddhist monks in Tibet from reincarnating without government permission. This troughs a wonderful light both on the policy of the Chinese government as well as the predicament you may be in if you believe in reincarnation.

The next painting will be like tetris. The blog entries will fall down and into place like in the game (but without the deleting of the lines…). Like for so many it was the first computer game I played. If you play it long enough you get addicted and experience the tetris effect. Your mind keeps rotating and fitting the objects that surround you. There is a Simpsons episode that illustrates that nicely. Here is the full and quite fascinating story of the invention of the game and the fate of it’s developer.
